FAQs
You can take any any grade. There is no best year to study abroad, as each student has different characteristics and goals.
In the De High School public program with J1 visa you will not be able to choose your destination, since it works a little bit different from the program with F1 visa. In this case, your destination will be selected by the American sponsor, who after receiving your interview and all your information and concerns, will select the family that best fits your profile.
A day in the routine of an international student in the USA is divided into 3 main parts:
1.- STUDY TIME: You get up around 7:00/7:30h, have breakfast and go to class, which will last until approximately 14:00h. Around 12:00h, you will have a break for lunch.
Once you finish your classes, you have some free time, and around 15:30/16:00h the extracurricular activities or sports begin, where you will spend about 2 hours. After this, between 18:00 and 19:00h, dinner arrives.
3.- After dinner, you can use the common study rooms, where you will spend between one and two hours reviewing the day’s lessons, doing your homework or preparing any projects you may have. In these rooms, there will always be teachers available to answer any questions you may have. After this, you will enjoy free time to share with the rest of the students until bedtime.
The reality is that each center has a different calendar, although they tend to coincide for the most part. The course usually starts at the end of August or beginning of September and lasts until the end of May.
During the course you will find 3 holiday periods: Thanksgiving in November, Christmas at the end of December and Springbreak in March. In all of them, you will be able to live the American experience from the inside.
At Deaquiparafuera we take care to treat each student in a totally personalized way. That is why we first conduct an interview with the student and his family to assess and evaluate different aspects such as the level of English, academic and / or sports, the claims of the family and the student’s aspirations.
In this way, we will find out what may be the best option for the student and send a work proposal, all without cost or commitment, of course. If this proposal fits with what the family is looking for, we will start the process, in which we will guide you before, during and after living this great experience.
